Ok - I answered my own question. Just had to change my # of channels from 4 to 6 in the protocol section.
I just need to do more exploring.

Kiss FC setup
I'm working on setting up my first Kiss FC build and am having issues with setting up an arm switch/flight mode switch on my turnigy 9x with 9xtreme board. My setup is a kiss FC with kiss 24a ESC's on a ZMR250 and a D4r-II receiver. I have it wired to use PPM. Channels 1-4 respond normally on the ki...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
I ended up using a PC to re-format the SD card (making sure it's FAT32, and it worked! Sweet sweet welcoming voice when I turned it on. Voice files are now viewable.
Thanks Mike and João! Much appreciated.

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
I used the mac to format to FAT (not EX FAT), as it's a32gb card.
I'm gonna try reformatting on a PC and if that doesn't work, I'll get a smaller card.
I was really hoping to save room on the card for that video feature that's in the works...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
Please try the following: Start in bootloader mode and connect to the PC. Create, if not present, a directory called "Firmware" in the root of the SD card, then copy the file ersky9x9XT_rom.bin to the Firmware directory. Disconnect the USB cable and the bootloader screen should show this ...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
It will play unless you have turned the SPLASH screen off. Check you have a file called "WELCOME.wav" in the \voice\system directory and it is a 16kHz file (256kbits/second). Do you hear any beeps when you press, for example, a trim switch? Mike. I do have the Welcome file. The splash scr...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
The SD card should be in FAT32 format, and use the largest cluster size possible. One check you can do is to press UP LONG from the main display, then LEFT a few times and get to the "SD CARD STAT" display. Check this shows "Present" as Yes, and the word "Ready". The n...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
You may need to install the voice pack from here: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7715 . Mike. I believe that's where I got the voice pack I'm using. Here's the file I downloaded and unzipped to my card. http://openrcforums.com/forum/download/file.php?id=12719 I'm thinking I'l...

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
Well - your advice of being patient has paid off. (Words to live by)
I'm now seeing that the 9x is recognized as a drive. Here's a pic of my file structure on the card. Perhaps I have this set up wrong?

Re: 9Xtreme Upgrade Board for 9x Radios
I'm having difficulty getting voices to play on my 9xtreme. I have put the files into a 32gb micro SD card, using my mac. The files clearly show up when I view them directly on the card, but when I try to assign a voice file to a switch (or even when I turn my 9x on), there are no files viewable in ...

Re: Fried 9X horizontal trim PCB
I was able to get a multimeter and determine that my signal and ground were good, but Vcc was not working, so I soldered the red wires from the taranis gimbal directly to the blue cable/pin and all is working as it should!
Thanks for the help Mike!

Re: Fried 9X horizontal trim PCB
Had a thought overnight: Assuming the board is toast and there's no way to get another trim board, could I directly solder the output wires from the gimbal pits to the input wires coming from the board? Easy enough to get the pos & Neg wires figured out, but I'd need to figure out which of the r...

Fried 9X horizontal trim PCB
So I was attempting to replace my stock 9X gimbals with taranis gimbals and in trying to remove the old gimbal wires from horizontal trim PCB, I believe I fried the trim PCB through extremely poor soldering (or desoldering) skills. One of the new gimbals works fine, but I get no response whatsoever ...

Re: 9Xtreme not working after flash
I'm confident that'Il do the trick, but if not, I'll post back.MikeB wrote:The 9Xtreme board should respond, even if it is not in the 9X.
If a new USB adapter is on its way, we may need to wait for that to arrive.
Mike.
Thanks Mike!

Re: 9Xtreme not working after flash
With power OFF, what happens if you plug the USB in to the computer? You should get the 9Xtreme starting in DFU bootloader mode. Mike. Mike- When I plug it in via USB, but leave the power off (with battery in or out), the screen displays "9Xtreme" in the center with r00.3 in lower left ha...

Re: 9Xtreme not working after flash
I did clean all contact pads and the push pins on the 9XT board, and that's actually when I stopped getting any LED response when I turned the tx on. Ok, so that leads me to a question... did you use anything other than 99% alcohol for cleaning them? If you used water or a lower % alcohol (which ha...

Re: 9Xtreme not working after flash
MikeB - when I use the "pinch" method, nothing happens. At one time, it caused the LED to change colors (I believe from orange to light blue), but now, there is no LED light at all and nothing on the screen when the 9xtreme is installed. The screen only displays "9Xtreme" when I ...

9Xtreme not working after flash
Greetings - I'll preface by saying that I'm fairly new to the RC world, so please bear with me. I recently upgraded my Turnigy 9x with the 9Xtreme board, and when I first installed it and turned it on, everything appeared to be functioning normally - though I never did bind it or use it on my quadco...
