Easy way would be to do one on Inputs screen and the other on the Mixes screen. .... I think.

Just thinking about the shut down message:
"How dare you turn me off"
"I was just starting to enjoy things"
"That'll save any further embarrassment"
Could be fun really.

Re: Documentation for OpenTX 2.1 and Taranis
I did try Gitbooks at the request of the OpenTX guys, but I found it quite a restrictive medium to work in and gave up fairly quickly.
I don't think the final presentation would look anything like I have achieved. I spent quite a lot of time on this, these days it really is important.

Re: Taranis adapter for flashing
Sorry! My first job was in an electronic instrument factory as a production engineer. I spend 6 months on an an assembly line as part of the training, and now its something I can't help noticing.
Take your point about the 5 pins though and yours does look very neat.

Re: Taranis adapter for flashing
Useful if you don't use the supplied NiMh battery in the tx, though soldering leaves something to be desired!
Otherwise a simple lead with +ve and -ve reversed is all that is needed.

Its in Special Functions. Scroll down the list of Actions.pchristy wrote:Yes, my Ace MicroPro (1995!) has the instant trim feature - you can even vary the slew rate. I thought the Taranis had it, but I'm not sure where its hidden!

Re: Cross trims?
Two comments.
First fit the small strap hanger to the tx neck strap fixing which also prevents the tx being easily turned off.
Use the instant trim feature of OpenTX so you can easily trim everything at once with a flick of the switch.

Re: opentx - calculated sensor
OK, how about a 12S pack with 2 voltage sensors. Use ADD to add the 2 voltages together. How about AVERAGE say of all the cell voltages in a flight pack. May want to use this instead of total voltage as an indication of capacity left in battery. Easier than having to remember pack values and calcula...

Re: OpenTx Heli functionality
Check the documentation here on this forum. There's something on setting up a basic heli in the How To section as well as earlier on in the docs.
OpenTX Documentation
The first heli How To deals with a similar system, and you should be able to convert from the handbook to OpenTX from this How To.

Don't mind at all, indeed I do need people to find all the errors, there are bound to be plenty. It was impossible for me to try out every combination available myself.

Thank you for that. Docs changed. Page 19 is now page 26. I've added quite a bit to each one, and still adding.
Nearly ready to publish the "final" (haha!) document. Aiming for middle of next month so I can include all of the getting started bit.

Re: Different versions for firmware and bootloader
I would suggest to update documentation of OpenTX related to the bootloader to mention this procedure for a bootloader upgrade, as personally I was never capable to upgrade it since the first bootloader version I ever installed on my radio (That was 2.0.15). I'm quite sure I'm not the only one in t...

Re: Callouts only when activated
This all looks a bit complicated.
Firstly, why not simply look at the lowest cell voltage, then no need to detect 3S or 4S.
Simply play the low/critical warnings when the cell drops below the preset values.
Also your cell voltages look high for warnings. I use 3.4v for low and 3.2 for critical.

Re: Not allowed to use any TX with open TX on it
From what I gather, the LMA have not taken his advice. Odd that he's questioning OpenTX, when it is the FrSky firmware that communicates with the receiver. He is not the radio guru for the LMA but for the organisation I gave a link to above. Wonder if he might be afraid of not getting the latest fre...

Re: Not allowed to use any TX with open TX on it
Got a better response on what is happening here. It seems somebody on a UK radio advisory body had concerns about an early Taranis, the tx not the receiver. However, as far as the LMA are concerned there is certainly no ban on either the Taranis or OpenTX, and apparently at a LMA show last weekend t...

Only too well aware of that. Hence the reason I'm surprised. The only condition "imposed" on the articles was to focus on OpenTX, as it can be used on a widening platform of transmitters rather than solely focus on the Taranis, although the editor has chosen to plonk a large picture of a T...

Thanks for the comments. Corrected the RTC, and the Settings one. You are right, the latter needed to be more clearly written, it was confusing.

Documentation for OpenTX 2.2 Taranis and Horus
This is about the 4th update of this documentation and now is (hopefully) up-to-date for OpenTX version 2.2.3. Sadly it doesn't cover the X-lite for the simple reason that I don't have one! Looking at the various issues still outstanding for this version of OpenTX, few, if any will require a change ...
