Re: sd card warning expected ver:2.2V0006

When you download a sd card zip or rar file and extract it, you'll see an extra file besides the folders. This is what otx looks for for sd version that goes with the fw version. Rather than reformat the sd are and copy all these folders and file over, I just copy the version file if it's missing. S...

Thanks Mike. It's not that important, more fact finding. Are we able to do it using the module bay is interested?

Re: X7 problems

Is it possible you flashed the wrong model/version tx fw into it?
Pretty difficult to brick the wx7, but wrong fw will make it stupid.

S.Port output on a Q X7 radio?

The bottom port does have its own power switch, controlled by a separate output from the processor. Note that early X7s don't have any pins on the bottom port as they don't have the power switch, and the pinout on the board is incorrect. I'm looking at how the correct pins, with a power switch, mig...

Re: Solar chargers

I finally have my all in one charge controller and Wx station and transmitter in service. I've guessed on some of it using info from google searches. One issue I'm needed to clean up is dirty DC going to the 144.390 transmitter (ham APRS free). Due to cost limitations, I'm using a pwm 30A solar regu...

Taranis XD9 Plus Trainer Port Not working

Ok, a few questions. Your tx is working ok still except for the trainer port? Your issue is you can't use another tx plugged into your plus as a trainer? Have you tried to use your plus as a trainer and another tx as a master? This I think would verify that your trainer Jack and cable is working and...

Solar chargers

Followup I replaced the original pwm charger with a different 30A one, still $15 range from BG. It's working much better so I must have damaged the first one by bench testing it as well as applying a non solar source voltage first before a battery. These mistakes seem to be bad! I did go ahead and u...

Re: Horus X12S sound issue

Just a thought (I don't own a 12s) is to check to see if the speakers are on a connector, maybe just one, that's not seated?
Also while inside the case, you could measure each speaker with an ohm meter to see if they read continuity (4 or 8 ohms, my guess 8).

Re: Solar chargers

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I need all the panel current so shielding the panels would limit test. I made a real test with 2 paralleled 12v 150w solar panels and a 12v car battery today. Not the final panels or battery setup, but available for a test. What I found out is... The "12v" pan...

Re: Solar chargers

Just in case someone is following this. From what I'm reading I actually need to connect a 12v 150w type panel to test the controller. By design a12v panel is actually around 18v open circuit and drops to the 12 volt range when loaded. This puts it J to the 12-14v range the pwm controllers maintain....

Solar chargers

I can use some advice. I'm building a solar powered RC charging station at a remote flying field, no shore power. Ive run into an issue with the controller outputting DC that hovers at 15v dc and pulses at high as 19v DC? I'm using a 2 panel (120W ea) 20v setup into a $12 30A Chinese controller and ...

Re: Documentation for OpenTX 2.1 and Taranis

Re x6r Ok, so only one analog port, but it can be configured to read internal or external sources. This would allow the use of the voltage divider sensor, giving up the Rx voltage monitoring? Then 2.1 FW will do only a discovery of what seems to be A1 what ever it's input is, but never any A2 as I'm...

I thought the x6r added the A2 port back. So does the 2.1 discovery mode add it as an option?
Thanks

Documentation for OpenTX 2.1 and Taranis

I was asked by a new 2.1 Taranis owner where he could find the A2 option on the telemetry page that was in 2.0? Is that covered in the manual? I'm still on 2.0 FW but have tried 2.1 in the past to know about the discovery mode. He has only x8r receivers so I wouldn't expect to see a A2 if it is a di...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter

Easy enough Mike. I used the original djt wiring you posted many years ago to use a internal rs232 to ttl level changer on my 9x board conversions as well using the built in converter on the sky boards. I already have the xjt usable with Sport on my 9xt and I think, 9x pro. Got to revisit the pro to...

ESR meter, a useful tool.

I recently had my 2008 series 3HD TiVo switcher ps die. A common over time failure to expect. Many ended up with counterfeit caps that would be easy to find because of the name, domed top, or leaking. Mine unfortunately, showed none of these issues! The fix most use is to shotgun replace all the cap...

S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter

Yes, it makes sense that this is the new norm, I just haven't had a reason to scope the servo outputs with the new scope. That being the case, I winder if with older servos, I mean good maybe even new, but from the 80's and 90's, if one would want to use a 4069 as a servo pulse buffer to go from a 3...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter

Servo pulse output level question? I was testing a new probe on my Rigol scope using the s6r receiver servo out and discovered that the pulses are 3-3.3v amplitude. The 5 v buss reads 4.9v. I understand we're in a 3.3v world now but I thought I'd see 4.9-5v pulses. I haven't had a reason to look at ...

Re: 12V supply to monitor and video receiver from 9XR Pro?

The current required to power both of these external devices may be too much for pro's 12v power buss to handle. You could use the pins on the Futaba trainer connector. The retail version pro I think uses all the pins. You could free up a few to run to the 12v input trace on the pro. That or add a a...

S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter

One setback? I trigger the auto check and moved the surface sticks to their extremes when the blue led went out. I think that's the required sequence? Now I lost elevator stick control? I may change my mind after trying the gyro mode however. I do an ok knife edge and not really doing a...

Re: S6R PC configuration STK USB adapter

Ok Mike, pro it is. I believe I've got the Taranis setup now thanks to the posts and charts. I'm using a 1500 to 2000us curve across the full range of S1 for gain. It seems linear. Anything under 1500 usec is 0 gain. It also seems that the ch 12 auto trim trigger wants to see a width swing from 1500...

Ok, ACC for accelerometer. The mode I use the most with a guardian stabilizer is what's called 2D head holding along with the remote gain function.
