Aliases and location?
I was just wondering why we use alliances and keep our general location a secret? Maybe a first name and a general local would not be a bad thing? I don't think anyone here is in any kind of a negitive mind set to warrent anonymity? Knowing a location at least would be of some help if persons needin...

Gps alarm wanted
Not sure where to post a feature wish so did it here. Mike has been great in the past as others in making requests happen. Is it possible to have an alarm function happen when the Frsky gps goes past a certain limit? Like several fields that have 400 ft levels I fly at and now use the altitude alarm...

Re: Display of Frsky Hub sensors?
Hi: You will get some readings with er9x from the frsky hub. You get the temperatures, the GPS (not tested, I only get zeros everywhere, I must get a fix first to test), and altitude information (from vario). You can get an alarm if you go over 122 meters from 0 meters, and you can set the the curr...

Re: 9X Radio
That is silly cheap! It would appear that leaders has raised the 9x price to $58 and is not taking orders after 168 backordered at $38? It may also be true that HK china is not taking orders but has stock in the US store that will. I guess the word got out that you don't have to spend $300 and up t...

Re: LiFe Battery Pack
I went from eneloop $40+ packs that work great but are expensive and heavier to using the 1500 Life. I had considered what I think most call the protected trust fire battery but several total TX battery failures at the field changed my mind. One was in the high end JR and a turbine and the other a g...

Re: hk backlight mod
Guys, I enjoy humor but I think this thread is taking a direction away from its purpose, to help us and others improve or solveing BL issues?
The BL current consumption is a small concern issue for most of us but thanks to this thread we have some hard numbers to work with now.

Re: hk backlight mod
Having switched to the HK backlight (much improved) - has anyone looked at disabling the EL driver on the SP board and saving the 20ma? It's very easy to disable the EL light... 1) open the back of your radio 2) carefully remove the SP board, and place on a stable surface 3) Find the third pin from...

Having switched to the HK backlight (much improved) - has anyone looked at disabling the EL driver on the SP board and saving the 20ma? Re: hk backlight mod
My thoughts.. The 1K resistor added into the module does make sense. A few things I've found out thanks to the posts from others over the last few months. The resistor is needed in the ppm line to prevent too much loading from the original stock module when another stock 9x is used as a trainer. It ...

Re: hk backlight mod
Now since you mention the 1K mod. that is actually one thing I don't quite know in detail. There is a mod to use trainer function on the back of the RF module board with a 1K resistor. ( this mod only needs to be done if your going to stay with the original Turnigy or FlySky modules and keep them pl...

Re: hk backlight mod
Ok here's why this is way more important than weather it's bright or not, draws 90Ma or 15Ma... If there is no current limiting resistor, and there is a shorted Led or LEDs that allow 90Ma to be drawn, will it become a total short at some time in operation? A direct short could take down the TX or b...
