Transfer Trim?????
Hey all, For a while I only used my quad on my 9x. To set the trims I just used the trim buttons on the radio. This worked just fine, but now that I'm adding other models and ran into issues: #1) I've created other models, but the trim settings have transferred to each? I'm almost positive that if I...

Re: hk backlight mod
To save from using one of the radio's switches, I'd like to use a separate toggle switch for the light. In this case, would I just need a switch that can handle 12v? Also, would I just solder it in-line with the positive and negative wire of the BL? Also, would a 270 ohm resistor be a good choice to...

Re: "Dead Space" on the sticks?!
Actually, I hadn't thought of that until last night. Here's a post I put on RCG: Ok just switched from a CT6B radio to a Turnigy 9x flashed with ER9x firmware. All has been good until tonight. Yesterday I realized that I need to move my throttle stick up 40% of the way before I get a throttle respon...

Re: "Dead Space" on the sticks?!
Ok, ran that little test. At minimum throttle, my hex value is 0056 while throttle is at -100. I've calibrated my sticks a few times but it never made a difference? Edit: Also looked to see when the throttle actually started to respond. When throttle is at -60 is when I actually notice the quad-copt...

Re: How to save as hex?
Got it. Thanks!
Quick question though. Is there a way to get rid of the "blank space" where my name used to be? There is a blank block impeding on the image where my name once was.

Re: "Dead Space" on the sticks?!
I would say you still have a calibration problem or something else. When calibrated, and a mix output set for 100% stick, the output pulse should centre on 1500uS, and move 512uS either side with no dead space at either end. Using 98% pulls this into 1500 +/- 501. Mike. I've calibrated the radio al...

How to save as hex?
I've looked at the instructions for a while now, but I simply can't save any of the splashes I downloaded as a hex file. I get an "error reading" message?
What I did:

Re: Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
Gosh, I thought it was fixed. Plugged everything back it and I popped 2 more traces (in the middle PCB between the gimbals). I just fixed them and the radio still turns on. So it's an issue with the backlight for sure. I'll triple check my connections, but I'm sure that they are right. I'm gonna run...

Re: Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
I think I found the problem! Take a look at this pic: http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z254/ABbuggin/Quadcopter/IMG_7520.jpg If you look very closely at the jumper, it seems like it also soldered to where I accidentally scratched the PCB exposing the copper while cutting the trace. I'll fix that a...

Well I got the radio to work again! Just needed the wire jumper in place of that copper trace. I'll take pics of the LED mod next and post them.

Re: Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
Thanks guys. I'll follow all advice. I'll fix the trace first and see what happens from there. So far I can only see the burned trace, and not a burned capacitor.
I can't plug the lipo in backwards, the plug prevents that.

Re: Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
Do you own a DVM (multimeter) and know how to use it? First disconnect your back light mod. Then you want to repower it and start measuring voltages. Hopefully your backlight mod didn't pull any current from pin17 and the trouble is not with the CPU. You'll want to measure the battery voltage at th...

Re: Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
OK, I've concluded that a short did happen (duh), Just like in this pic: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/File:09IMG_5374r.jpg BUT, why? I know I did everything right. Is it possible that if I accidentally tore that trace while installing everything that the loose trace caused the short? If no...

Uh, oh, I shorted it (I think)
Garhg. I am a very careful person, but I managed to short my 9x (I think). Was putting the back-light in with the BS170 transistor so that I can turn the light on/off. I followed this guide to the T: http://openrcforums.com/wiki/index.php/9x_Full_Mod_Backlight I was extremely careful to make sure th...

Have you performed a calibration on your sticks and pots? My multi wii setup needs the endpoints set to 98 and -98 on all sticks and it's 1000 - 2000 all around. Yeah, I made sure to do that asap. You could turn on extended limits. Then you would be able to set the endpoints to +/- 125 -Gohst Geeze...

"Dead Space" on the sticks?!
First off, I tried searching. I know how much forum veterans hate newbies asking redundant Q's. ;) So far though, this forum has actually be pretty nice and willing to help me, a er9x newb out. :D Was out flying my quadcopter today, getting used to the new "feel" of the radio and noticed s...

Lights flicker on channel 5?
I'm working on setting up my 9x (flashed with er9x) for my quadcopter. Got it flying yesterday, and today I'm working on being able to activate my LED's on channel 5 as I did on my last radio. Currently, I use a turnigy remote switch to be able to activate my LEDs. I just recently was able to activa...

You need a couple of days for the paint to dry properly. Otherwise is will stick to your hands and come off. Maybe you can get it painted late on a Sunday and let it sit while you go to work for a few days? -Gohst Well, I was wanting to do a bit of a design. I'm somewhat talented at painting, so th...

Faulty switch warning?
When I power up my 9x, I get a switch warning. It tell me that my THR switch is activated, but it's clearly flipped down. If I power up the radio with the switch up, no warning. What's the easier way to fix this? Change a setting in the radio? Or would I be best off just turning the switch around? t...

I was using a Crius usbasp v0.2 programmer. Not sure where you can get it (don't see it for sale anywhere) because I got it off of a forum.
The one that worked was the programmer from HK.

Exactly which programmer are you using? Maybe provide a link to the one you bought?
So does this mean I have it wired right or do I need to re-do the driver instal?

Ok, I have a 9x that I'm trying to flask the ER9X to. I've quadrupled checked my wiring, and have triple checked to make sure that my usbasp driver is recognized by the computer (had to download a driver). Problem is, it won't follow through with the flash. The radio powers up when connected and doe...
