Re: Fried Radio?
Looks like I'm officially stuck... I can't do anyhtign without a radio but I can't afford something like a Taranis and I dont want to buy another 9XR Pro if this is what I can expect... I guess my only option is to build my own with a Mega 2560?

Re: Fried Radio?
Also, I have no idea if this makes any difference but in comparing images posted by the user in the aforementioned thread to my own board I noticed one small difference which may or may not be relevant... In both radios there is a sticker with a blue mark covering what I believe it is a thermal fuse...

Re: Fried Radio?
OK. the measurements between FU1 and R9 read the same whether I turned the switch on or off. Measurements of the J5 header pins are not so consistent. I get nothing between 2 and 3 whether the switch is on or off. Voltages between 1+2= 11.88v and 3+5=12.12v when switched off. However, when I power o...

Just to confirm whether I'm doing this right, here is a picture of my multimeter touching the leads- https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jmqLxC2lGX0/VhanntwlihI/AAAAAAAAWuk/uwUG7G1UX-I/s640-Ic42/9xrleads.jpg I also took this close up of the wiring as I have it now in case something appears out of the...

Yes. Assuming I'm using the right settings on my meter. That's what it's showing.

Also- Just to show that I'm not imagining things, the instructions I followed can be found here- https://github.com/openLRSng/openLRSngWiki/wiki/Connecting-to-a-computer Note that this absolutely does not say that you should insert the module while the radio is on (which is a very silly thing to do...

Re: Fried Radio?
OK. I'm getting something in the range of 2.25v under the DCV setting on my meter. It definitely seemed to do something though as it interupted the buzzing sound when I touched the leads.

Re: Fried Radio?
Was the radio powered on when you plugged the module in? Near the top left of the main board is the 5V pre-regulator. On the main board near this are two test points labelled 0V and 5V. When you switch on, do you get 5V between them? Mike. Can you do what Mike ask here? This could help to find out ...

Re: [SUPPORT] OpenLRSng support thread
Hello, I have an OrangeRX OpenLRS module which I've been using with my Turnigy 9xr Pro. Yesterday I tried to connect to the configurator by following the instructions stating that I would have to connect a 3.3v FTDI converter while the module was inserted in the transmitter housing. I had successful...

Fried Radio?
Hello, I have a 9xr Pro that was performing as expected until yesterday when I tried inserting an OrangeRX OpenLRS module and the screen went dead. Now all that happens when I try to turn it on is an ominous buzzing sound and the blue light will come on. Previously, I had been using both the DSM2/DS...

Re: 9XR-Pro settings for Naze32/Flip32
Wait... So are you saying I shouldn't change the limits to 80% and to just leave it alone? Or to change the Mix levels to 80% instead of the limits?Kilrah wrote:Cleanflight wants 1000-2000 range so you should not touch the limits, or only to get as close as possible to that. The defaults are normally fine.

Re: 9XR-Pro settings for Naze32/Flip32
You can adjust either weight or limits and get the same basic result. However, good practice is to leave the weight at 100 and set limits to 80. This makes a difference in some more advanced programming situations. One more point, any time the instructions say to bring throttle trim all the way dow...

Re: 9XR-Pro settings for Naze32/Flip32
Thank you for the explanation! I can't picture myself figuring that out on my own accord... Just to be sure, which menu settings should I be editing exactly? Should I be changing the WEIGHT percentage to 80% in the MIXER menu or the High/Low Limits in the LIMITS menu? Or is there a less obvious menu...

9XR-Pro settings for Naze32/Flip32
Hello All- I'm looking for suggestions about configuring a 9Xr-Pro for use with a Flip32+(Naze32 clone) over Cleanflight. At present I am using an OrangeRX RX/TX in CPPM mode though I plan to move on to OpenLRSng once I get over the learning curve. I've read some sources that say 9Xr Mixes should be...

Re: Multirotor Mix for Spektrum Satellite using MultiWii?
Per a suggestion from a user on the rcgroups thread- http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1885026&page=317 I discovered the problem was rooted in having the wrong setting for 1024/2048 in config.h. Easily corrected by searching the numbers in finder and commenting out whichever one I ...

Re: Multirotor Mix for Spektrum Satellite using MultiWii?
Thank you for the info. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the Spektrum Satellite is set up in the specific version of MultiWii I am using for the Pocketquad. Multirotor Mix for Spektrum Satellite using MultiWii?
Hello All, I have only had my 9xr-Pro for about a week and my only previous experience involved OpenTX (albeit in a very simplified form...) so I'm a little lost when it comes to ErSKY9x... Before I feel comfortable enough to start flying my full-size quad, I've been practicing on the "HK Pocke...

OpenTX vs Ersky9x
Hello All, I just got my 9xr-Pro and had been planning to install OpenTX on it, but I hadn't realized how much OpenTX devs favor the Taranis until I tried to find basic information. I wanted to go with OpenTX because I'm more familiar with it not to mention my instinctual distrust of any default fir...

Re: Software Defined TX using Arduino and Android?
I dont think the hardware you mention in your last paragraph would be considered SDR. the NRF24 is not SDR. Of course the NR24 can't be considered a Software Defined Radio... Nor could any other hardware component for that matter! The whole point to the SDR is that it should be as platform agnostic...

Software Defined TX using Arduino and Android?
This concept occurred to me in the midst of this discussion about flashing the Arduino Due with the same firmware as the 9xrPRO- http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=7166 It has always seemed like a bitter irony that we in the RC community have managed to produce such incredibly so...

Thank you for the info on drivers etc... Coincidentally, I was just reading about the Due's support for RTC, EEPROM etc... in this thread (http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=329101.new#new) that compares the DUE to the new Arduino Zero, which is also based on the 32bit SAM but in a smaller foot...

Re: assembling new RC, would use OpenTX
I realize this thread was last updated a year ago, but I am very interested in the outcome as well! I would like to flash an Arduino Due with OpenTX and use it to replace the motherboard of a Dx5e (adding more switches+LCD display as necessary. If anybody else has any more information on whether or ...

Arduino Due based TX
Hello, I am relatively new to the RC world though I have plenty of experience working with Arduino etc... I recently upgraded from a Spektrum DX5e to a Turnigy 9xR Pro and I noticed that the 9xR Pro is based on the same chipset as the Arduino Due (ATSAM3x8E). I'm wondering if it would be possible to...
