Re: er9x development
Oops! I've just realised that to use all eight channels the D4r-II FrSky has to have 27 ms frame length. So PPM has to have the long frame length. If I were to use the the internals from an XJT module for my Sky9x board in PXX protocol and SBUS via an X series Rx could I then use D16 and 8 channels ...

Re: er9x development
I've just posted a test version of er9x for '128 and '2561 processors with an option for 8 or 16 channels in PXX protocol (here: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4598&p=64969#p64969 ). Mike. Great work Mike. Your willingness to help and your quick response is amazing. Can y...

Free Rider, Ersky9x v 218 and no Switch Board
Sky9x Board, Free Rider, Ersky9x v 218 and no Switch Board I have just converted my custom built tray radio with a version B1 Sky9x board to run Free Rider multicopter simulator and Ersky9x Version 218. It has no trainer port which is normally found in Eurgel/Turnigy.etc 9x installations. I used the...

Re: 9XR Pro using FreeRider Demo on Mac OSx.
Hi Joao. The cable I refer to is the one for which I gave the link at the bottom of the page. It's a USB cable with a 3.5 mm mono jack at one end and a USB dongle at the other. Thanks for the "heads up" on the power from the computer. I see from the circuit diagram that the cable only cond...

9XR Pro using FreeRider Demo on Mac OSx.
I could not find anything specific for FreeRider and Mac other than some references here http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=122&t=6652 which were very useful, especially some notes from Daedalus66. So I have written the following and hope that it is helpful. Steve Free Rider Setup Not...

Re: ERSKY9X Coding
I've found a small bug in the handling of switches assigned to "Prev" and "Next". If the switch is ON when you power on the radio (or change models possibly), it may be actioned, thus skipping to the previous or next track of a playlist when first starting playing. I have the fi...

Well done both of you. Your manual is a shining example of what a manual should be in a world where manuals are either non-existent, incomplete and/or poorly written.

Hi Majstoralc. There are later versions of the firmware however the manuals and the beta testing all finished at the version r204 which you have. While there are some very smart features that Mike and the rest of the development team, Joao in particular, have been working on, you will have to follow...

Thanks Joao....revising the Ersky9x manual and doing some research on some of the BT possibilities. Also might try it myself when my HC-05 module arrives.

Re: 9XR Pro is Here
Thats good news. I see that there is an Android app for some of the flight controller boards where things like the PID values can be set for multicopters. Is there a similar app for reading or logging telemetry from a the transmitter?

Was anyone successful in getting HC-05 or HC-06 BT modules to work with either another Tx in trainer mode or with an Android device for telemetry recording/display?

Re: Updating Ersky9x to Bootloader Versions
Good work Glen. Congratulations. I tried it; loaded Ersky9x on my Taranis but I could not cope with the buttons and the SD card changes were annoying so I gave up. I had some issues with my Mac too, getting the firmware loaded but after the bootloader was installed I even had a brain fade about upda...

Commiserations. I did not have either of these problems with my prototype 9XR Pro but a few others which were fixed for production. You are right about the low brightness of the production) 9XR Pro LCD screen. My prototype 9XR Pro LCD, probably a regular production 9XR screen, is brighter and much b...

Hi Greg. It sounds like the list of usb drivers which appear in the second box (programmer) of the Eepe configuration window. It's a long list. One of these is usbap. Google tells me: "libusb is a C library that provides generic access to USB devices. It is intended to be used by developers to ...

Re: Eepe on MAC
Essentially you just install AVRDUDE and Eepe. Then open Eepe. The path to AVRDUDE should appear in the configuration menu - the one with the gearwheel symbol - already. Then select usbasp from the options in the box next to 'programmer'. Then the next box 'mcu' depends on which processor you are tr...

OpenTx 2.0.5 Instant Trim not working properly
OpenTX 2.0.5 of 27th Jun 2014 installed on Taranis: mode 1. Instant Trim on one side of neutral subtracts the stick offset to the stick trim position instead of adding. On the other side of neutral the stick position is added to the trim position i.e. moves the trim position to reduce the out of tri...

Re: ERSKY9X on Taranis
Taranis upgrade to Ersky9x. In summary Tarnis bootloader remains installed after loading x9d-rom.bin upgrade. Maintenance mode does not work and it cannot be used to load the Ersky9x bootloader. Companion and Eepskye do not communicate with the radio any more. Models (.eepm) from other Ersky9x radio...

Re: ERSKY9X on Taranis
Ahhhh. So what I am seeing IS the Ersky9x bootloader! I thought it was the OpenTx bootlloader. My apologies are offered. I will edit the above post. So if I change the folder name to 'Firmware' now instead of 'FIRMWARES' the boot loader in maintenance mode will be able to find it. I'll try that late...
